RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO ABOLISH AND CREATE A POSITION IN THE SULLIVAN COUNTY OFFICE FOR THE AGING
WHEREAS, Sustained outreach efforts have resulted in an increase in customers utilizing services provided by Office for the Aging, and
WHEREAS, the staffing needs at the Office for the Aging have been reviewed and it has been determined there is a need to upgrade one of the Aging Services Assistant positions to an Aging Services Specialist position; and
WHEREAS, this upgrade will provide the flexibility to meet the increased needs of the programs; and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Office for the Aging is requesting to abolish an Aging Services Assistant, Position No. 2350 and to create a new position of Aging Services Specialist; and
WHEREAS, the creation of the new Aging Services Specialist position in the Office for the Aging, which is a Grade VIIA within the Teamsters Salary Schedule to take effect on May 1, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the additional cost for this upgrade is covered by existing grant funding, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Sullivan County Legislature hereby authorizes the abolishment of an Aging Services Assistant, Position No. 2350, and authorizes the creation of an Aging Services Specialist position in the Office for the Aging to take effect on May 1, 2024.
