RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO AUTHORIZE A STIPEND FOR NUTRITION SITE OPERATORS
WHEREAS, The Office for the Aging currently runs the Nutrition Program that operates congregate meal sites and a homebound meal delivery program for older persons in Sullivan County; and
WHEREAS, in addition to Office for the Aging staff, services are provided by Part-Time Nutrition Site Operators and Part-Time Chauffeurs; and
WHEREAS, currently there is a $300 monthly stipend provided to Part-Time Chauffeurs for utilizing their personal vehicles for delivering homebound meals; and
WHEREAS, since the pandemic, Nutrition Site Operators have also been delivering meals using their own vehicles; and
WHEREAS, no stipend is currently provided to the Nutrition Site Operators; and
WHEREAS, the Nutrition Site Operators have also been tasked to deliver meals in addition to their duties of running congregate sites; and
WHEREAS, a stipend to incentivize and retain staff is necessary as these positions have been harder to fill when vacated; and
WHEREAS: grant funding can support these additional $300 monthly stipends for the existing nine (9) Nutrition Site Operators; and
NOW THEREFORE IT IS RESOLVED: County of Sullivan will provide a monthly stipend of $300 for the positions of Part-Time Nutrition Site Operators in the Office for the Aging Nutrition program
