Title: RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO CONVEY CERTAIN PARCELS TO THE TOWN OF BETHEL FOR HIGHWAY USE WHEREAS, properties located in the Town of Bethel designated on the Sullivan County Real Property Tax Map as Bethel 16.-1-13.26 and 16.-1-13.27 are owned by the County of Sullivan by virtue of an Article 11 foreclosure for unpaid taxes; and WHEREAS, it appears that the two parcels above are roads that were intended to be formally dedicated to the Town of Bethel, but the dedication was never effectuated; and WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Treasurer presented these parcels to the Real Property Advisory Board for review and the Real Property Advisory Board agrees that the parcels should be transferred to the Town of Bethel; and WHEREAS, the Town of Bethel passed a Resolution confirming that they already maintain both of the roads in question and that the Town agrees to take over ownership of the two parcels in question; and WHER...

RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO CONVEY CERTAIN PARCELS TO THE TOWN OF BETHEL FOR HIGHWAY USE

WHEREAS, properties located in the Town of Bethel designated on the Sullivan County Real Property Tax Map as Bethel 16.-1-13.26 and 16.-1-13.27 are owned by the County of Sullivan by virtue of an Article 11 foreclosure for unpaid taxes; and

WHEREAS, it appears that the two parcels above are roads that were intended to be formally dedicated to the Town of Bethel, but the dedication was never effectuated; and

WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Treasurer presented these parcels to the Real Property Advisory Board for review and the Real Property Advisory Board agrees that the parcels should be transferred to the Town of Bethel; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Bethel passed a Resolution confirming that they already maintain both of the roads in question and that the Town agrees to take over ownership of the two parcels in question; and

WHEREAS, tax bills for several lien years were generated for the above-mentioned parcels and remain unpaid, accruing delinquent taxes, penalties and interest; and

WHEREAS, as these taxes, penalties and interest are unenforceable, the Real Property Advisory Board further believes that it is in the best interest of the County to cancel any outstanding taxes, penalties and interest due and owing on the aforementioned parcels pursuant to ?558 of the Real Property Tax Law of the State of New York.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Chairman of the Sullivan County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute the necessary documents in order to convey the two parcels in question to the Town of Bethel for the municipal purpose set forth above; and

THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the County Treasurer is so authorized to cancel the delinquent taxes, penalties and interest assessed to the parcels noted above and charge back ...
