RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY LEGISLATORS STEINGART AND DOHERTY TO APPOINT A MEMBER TO FILL A VACANCY ON THE LAND BANK BOARD
WHEREAS, The Sullivan County Land bank is administered by an 8 member Board of Directors, and
WHEREAS, Since the inception of the Land bank, Jill Weyer served as the Executive Director of that entity and
WHEREAS Jill resigned from the County recently to accept a position with another municipality; and
WHEREAS, Jill Weyer has a wealth of valuable information regarding the functioning of the land bank; and
WHEREAS, Jill Weyer has agreed to accept a term as a member of the Board of Directors, and
WHERAS; On or about March 22, 2023 the Land Bank Board is scheduled to conduct a reorganizational meeting; and
WHEREAS, The Sullivan County Legislature has voted to table a Resolution, in Executive Committee, to appoint all eight (8) members of that Board and will presumably take up that issue at its April meeting; and
WHEREAS; In order to insure the proper functioning of that Board up until the time when the Legislature appoints Board Members to a new term;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, Jill Weyer is hereby appointed to fill out the unexpired term of the vacancy as a Member of the Land bank, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That such term shall be defined as that period of time up to the point when the Sullivan County Legislature votes to fill all eight positions; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in the event that the Sullivan County Legislature elects not to appoint Jill Weyer to a full term, her term provided for in this Resolution shall terminate upon appointm...
