RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO APPOINT MEMBERS OF THE SULLIVAN COUNTY LAND BANK CORPORATION BOARD
WHEREAS, authority to appoint members of the Sullivan County Land Bank Corporation Board of Directors resists with the Sullivan County Legislature pursuant to Article 16 of New York State's Non-Profit Corporation Law; and
WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Land Bank Corporation (the Land Bank) is governed by an eleven (11) member Board of Directors who serve a term of two (2) years from the date of incorporation unless appointed by virtue of a director’s elected public office in which case it shall run concurrently with the term of office, whichever is less; and
WHEREAS, the terms of the current ten Board members expire in February 2023 and there is one vacancy, reserved for a community member; and
WHEREAS, at its January 11, 2023 meeting all members of the Land Bank Board expressed a desire to continue to serve; and
WHEREAS, at its January 11, 2023 meeting the Land Bank Board voted unanimously to recommend to the Sullivan County Legislature an appointment to fill the Board vacancy;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sullivan County Legislature hereby makes the following appointments to the Board, for terms ending February 2025, and in accordance with relevant laws and/or by-laws:
1. Nancy Buck, County Treasurer
2. Alan Sorensen, Legislative Majority Leader
3. Ira Steingart, Legislative Minority Leader
4. George Nikolados, Monticello Village Representative
5. Victoria Ferguson, Liberty Village Representative
6. Jacquelyn Leventoff, Community Member
7. Anna Milucky, Community Member
8. Julian Dawson, Community Member
9. Susan Harte, Community Member
10. Jill M. Weyer, Community Member
