WHEREAS, in cooperation with BOCES, County and Center for Workforce Development (CWD), a pilot has been formulated to introduce a Construction Trade Program using the BOCES facilities located in Liberty, New York.
WHEREAS, a Construction Trade Program will be offered to individuals seeking to be educated and trained in the construction field. It has been determined that local construction companies are in high demand for employees that have required employability skills. This curriculum-based program will be non-credit bearing, short term, and will begin in April 2023.
WHEREAS, BOCES has offered the use of their facilities for this hands-on experience, with a minimum of five (5) students at a cost of $3,050 each, seven (7) students at a cost of $2,200 each; ten (10) students at a cost of $1,525 each, and a maximum of fifteen (15) students at a cost of $1,025 each for this pilot curriculum.
WHEREAS, the Agreement amount for this pilot will be in an amount not to exceed $15,400.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Manager is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement with BOCES in the amount of $15,400, and said Agreement is to be in the form approved by the County Attorney.
