RESOLUTION BY LEGISLATOR JOSEPH PERRELLO AUTHORIZING REMOVAL OF A PARCEL OF REAL PROPERTY FROM THE REAL PROPERTY TAX AUCTION AND PRIVATE SALE.
Legislator Perrello offers the following:
WHEREAS, the County of Sullivan in accordance with the provisions of Real Property Tax Law has foreclosed on certain properties based upon delinquent taxes for tax years 2019 and 2020, and
WHEREAS, the County of Sullivan has in all respects complied with the Notice requirements set forth in the Real Property Tax Law for commencement of an Article 11 Tax Foreclosure, and
WHEREAS; The County of Sullivan by the Sullivan County Treasurer has appropriately and properly complied with all provisions of the Real Property Tax Law in commencing and prosecuting these Real Property Tax foreclosures and obtained a lawful Order of the County Court of Sullivan County granting the County of Sullivan Title to various parcels of Real Property located in the Town of Fallsburg, County of Sullivan; and
WHEREAS, Unique circumstances have given rise to an anomaly whereby the County has complied with all provisions of the Real Property Tax Law in providing Notice and an Opportunity to be heard on the issue; and
WHEREAS, The Sullivan County Legislature acting out of an abundance of caution wishes to provide Sullivan County Property owners with every possible opportunity to regain title to properties awarded to Sullivan County at the completion of the Article 11 proceedings on about February 15, 2022; and
