RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMITTEE TO AUTHORIZE THE COUNTY MANAGER TO APPLY AND ACCEPT A HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM (HSGP) 2022 GRANT AWARD FROM THE NEW YORK STATE DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES (DHSES)
WHEREAS, the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services provides funds to support efforts of emergency management/homeland security; and
WHEREAS, the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services provides funds for the law enforcement community to support their terrorism prevention and preparedness efforts; and
WHEREAS, the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services is administering the FY2022 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP), a reimbursable, two-part (SHSP/SLETPP) grant program, wherein Federal guidelines require 30% of the allocated amount be directed to law enforcement terrorism prevention activities; and
WHEREAS, Sullivan County has been deemed eligible for the funding, in an amount to be determined; and
WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Division of Public Safety/Office of Emergency Management must submit an application in order to receive said funding and wishes to file an application with the New York State Division of Homeland Security; and
WHEREAS, Sullivan County is not required to provide any local cash match.
