To authorize an agreement with Motorola Solutions Inc. for Hardware & Software Upgrades and 5-Year Maintenance Plan for the E911 Telephone System.

WHEREAS, Sullivan County E911 utilizes a Motorola 911 call handling system (VESTA) for E911 call management and processing in the County’s 911 Center, and
WHEREAS, the current hardware and software components require an upgrade per manufacturer recommendation to assure continued reliability, and
WHEREAS, Motorola Solutions Inc ,as the system manufacturer, has presented a proposal which includes the hardware and software upgrades in addition to (5) five years of annual maintenance with payments not to exceed $100,000.00 per year for a (5) five year term, and
WHEREAS, the proposal is in accordance with the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contract #051321-MOT in which Sullivan County is a participant, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the County residents and visitors to have a reliable E911 phone system,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Manager is authorized to execute an agreement with Motorola Solution Inc. for the upgrade of hardware and software of the E911 phone system, along with (5) five years of maintenance, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, said agreement shall have a (5) year term with an annual payment not to exceed $100,000.00 per year for (5) years, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the form of such agreement be approved by the County Attorney’s Office.
