RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AMENDING RESOLUTION 36-25 TO AUTHORIZE SULLIVAN COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO ACCEPT THE ENTIRETY OF THE FEDERAL SECTION 5311 FORMULA GRANT AWARD
WHEREAS, resolution 36-25 was enacted in January 2025 authorizing the County to apply for and accept funds from the Federal Section 5311 Formula Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the Section 5311 Formula Grant Program is passed through to local Transportation agencies by the New York State Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, at the time the resolution was produced and enacted guidance from New York State Department of Transportation was unclear regarding the funding structure; and
WHEREAS, the enacted resolution only authorized the County to accept 20% of the total award amount of $951,169 equaling an award of $190,233.80; and
WHEREAS, recent amendments from New York State Department of Transportation to the Section 5311 Formula Grant Program contract have made $950,856 available for acceptance; and
WHEREAS, there is a discrepancy of $313 dollars from the contract award amount ($951,169) and the amended schedule of available funds ($950,856) that will be disbursed at a later time; and
