The Manager’s office has done their best to squelch any news getting out to the public about Infinitecare pulling out of the ACC, the freeze on admissions, the low census, which is now in the low 90’s, the Administrator, who is already working full time somewhere else, or that the people who are in charge of the facility now are the same people who were in charge before he was hired last year. I believe the Administrator is still on the county books for a few hours per week but probably will not set foot in the building. We all have questions about the shortfall payment, the timeframe, if Infinitecare is going to continue to do the billing, and so on. Of course, you would know nothing about these important matters from reading the ACC’s monthly report. Maybe this time around we could hire a consultant to facilitate the return of the facility to the county’s full management, where it has thrived in years past. Maybe this time the legislature could get behind that plan and in front of repeating past mistakes. At least we could focus on hiring through the county, offering incentives, and endeavoring to support our employees there.
