Human Resources Committee -

Good norming.  I wonder if there can be any information about the ongoing situation with the workforce at the ACC.  As you know, there are a majority of contract employees through multiple employment agencies working there, as opposed to county employees.  I wonder if there are any efforts being made to increase hiring of county employees there, since we heard a report that at the facility reception desk, applications for county employment were not being accepted and interested people were encouraged to apply to Infinitecare’s own agency Frontline.  The consultancy contract with Infinitecare says clearly that contract employees are only to be sought in the absence of candidates for county employment, and that is not what’s happening.  We’ve also heard that contract employees are not held to the same standards of behavior as county employees. Also, I wonder if there is any plan in Human Resources as to the possible situation we could be in if Infinitecare’s contract is terminated, either by them or by the county, with the requisite 30 days’ notice.
