RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY MATT MCPHILLIPS, CHAIR OF THE PLANNING AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES COMMITTEE AUTHORIZING THEPREPARATION OF A GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE 2026-2027 OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH TRAINING AND EDUCATION (OSH T&E) GRANT PROGRAM WHICH IS ADMINISTERED BY THE NEW YORK STATE HAZARD ABATEMENT BOARD AND DEPARTMENT OF LABOR
WHEREAS, the New York State Hazard Abatement Board (HAB) in partnership with the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) has made approximately $5.9 million in funding available under the Occupational Safety and Health Training and Education Program (OSH T&E) program; and
WHEREAS, the 2026-2027 Occupational Safety and Health Training and Education Program (OSH T&E) grant supports general or hazard specific training programs which resolve unique and unusually difficult job safety problems; and
WHEREAS, the performance period is from August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027; and
WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Division of Human Resources has identified a need to enhance specialized safety training for staff County wide for a project not to exceed $170,000; and
WHEREAS, Sullivan County is not required to provide a local cash or in-kind match in support of the
2026-2027 OSH T&E program; and
