RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY PLANNING, REAL PROPERTY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTS WITH SUB-AWARDEES OF A NATIONAL FISH AND WILDLIFE FOUNDATION GRANT TO IMPLEMENT SITE IMPROVEMENTS AT THE PLANNED RIVERSIDE PARK IN CALLICOON

WHEREAS, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) administers funding for watershed studies and restoration activities to improve water quality, wildlife habitat, flood resiliency, and recreation in the Delaware River Watershed; and
WHEREAS, NFWF's goals to improve water quality, wildlife habitat, flood resiliency and outdoor nature-based recreation are closely aligned with those of Sullivan County ("County"); and
WHEREAS, the County has been working with the Town of Delaware and stakeholders to create a new County park in the Hamlet of Callicoon; and
WHEREAS, the County received a grant award from NFWF providing funding to support the creation of the new park; and
WHEREAS, Catskill Center, and Catskill Forest Association, Inc. ("Sub-Awardees) were identified as service providing partners in the original grant application and subsequent agreement; and
WHEREAS, the County, in conjunction with its Sub-Awardees, has identified a scope for preliminary site work; and
WHEREAS, the scope includes tree work, mapping, a site-specific invasive species plan, remediation and public engagement; and
WHEREAS, such activities have been awarded funding under the NFWF program authorized through Resolution 118-22; and
