911 Communications:

1.                     In October we completed a significant radio system upgrade which replaced switches at each of our tower sites and the main dispatch sites.

2.                     We continue to work with ITS, planning, and others on the broadband project which impacts our tower site locations.

3.                     We participated in the Local Emergency Planning Committee meeting last week along with our public safety, municipal and utility partners.

4.                     I attended a NYS 911 Coordinators conference last month.  There is a huge focus on next-generation 911, connectivity statewide to new call delivery systems, mental health of our 911 dispatch first responders, and a look to AI beginning to be used in 911 systems.

5.                     Monthly dispatch stats are attached.

Sullivan County EMS:

1.                     We continue to move forward on the deliverables from the NYS EMS grant which we received.  The final grant contract was executed on September 29th and we are moving full-speed ahead to carry out the projects outlined.

2.                     One of those deliverables was to provide scholarships for individuals wanting to take an EMT course - removing financial barriers to education.  To that end, we are moving forward along with SUNY Sullivan providing scholarships for a  Winter blended learning course and a Spring traditional classroom offering.  We have a few students signed up already, and we continue to promote the courses.

3.                     I will be reaching out to all EMS agencies in the county to discuss what equipment or training they might need to offer full basic life support capabilities within their agency.  The goal is to standardize the capabilities of all of our agencies.
