RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO SETTLE A PAYMENT CLAIM WITH VERIZON
WHEREAS, the Division of Information Technology Services (“ITS”) has multiple contracts with Verizon for a variety of products and services, and
WHEREAS, ITS cancelled five telephone line accounts with Verizon and Verizon has claimed that there is an outstanding balance due of $166.97, and
WHEREAS, ITS, Audit and County Attorney’s Office have discussed the claim and they all agree that paying the claim and settling the controversy is in the best interest of the County.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sullivan County Legislature does hereby authorize the Audit Department to process the claim and arrange to have payment made to Verizon in the amount of $166.97, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that ITS should take the actions necessary to confirm that the accounts associated with the five telephone lines are terminated/cancelled, so that no future costs should accrue from those accounts
