RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO AUTHORIZE THE COUNTY MANAGER TO AMEND THE CONTRACT WITH SENIORCARE EMS

WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Legislature approved resolution 330-24 entering into an agreement with SeniorCare Emergency Medical Services to provide fly-car services to supplement existing EMS services in Sullivan County; and

WHEREAS, the fly-car program has been extremely successful in reducing EMS response times, assisting existing agencies with crew staffing and providing additional advance life support providers for the most critical of incidents; and

WHEREAS, despite the County EMS fly-cars' rapid arrival on scene, there are frequent and growing delays in being able to locate a transporting ambulance to backup those fly-cars and transport the patient to the hospital, and

WHEREAS, the population and need for EMS services increases significantly during our summer season; and

WHEREAS, it would in the best interest of the County EMS system and the residents/visitors of Sullivan County that the legislature amends the contract to include one (1) 16/7 ALS staffed ambulance during the busy summer 3-month season June 15 - Sept 15; and

WHEREAS, due to regulatory processes within the NYS DOH. certain services under this contract were delayed resulting in a credit from SeniorCare EMS to Sullivan County for AEMT services; and

WHEREAS, Sullivan County did receive grant funding through the NYS DOH to add additional EMS resources to supplement the EMS system; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that County Legislature approves the addition of one (1) ALS Ambulance 16 hours per day for a 3-month period beginning June 15, 2025 and end...
