RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO CONVERT THE PUBLIC SAFETY HEALTH AND WELLNESS COORDINATOR POSITION FROM PART-TIME TO FULL-TIME

WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Division of Public Safety has established the position of part-time Public Safety Health and Wellness Coordinator to support the health, wellness, resilience, and overall well-being of personnel within the County’s public safety agencies; and

WHEREAS, the responsibilities and demands associated with the Health and Wellness Coordinator position have increased, requiring additional availability, coordination, program development, outreach, and administrative support; and

WHEREAS, the Division of Public Safety has determined that changing the position from part-time to full-time status will provide the necessary capacity to effectively administer and expand health and wellness initiatives, coordinate services and resources, and provide ongoing support to public safety personnel; and

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 293-26 approved the use of Opioid Settlement funding in the amount of $63,000.00 to support the Public Safety Health and Wellness Coordinator position within the Division of Public Safety; and

WHEREAS, the Opioid Settlement funding will provide financial support for the full-time position and will assist the County in providing wellness resources and support services designed to address the unique needs of public safety personnel; and
