RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMITTEE TO AUTHORIZE THE COUNTY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT THE FY2025 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM (HSGP) AWARD FROM THE NEW YORK STATE DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES (DHSES)
WHEREAS, the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services provides funds to support efforts of emergency management / homeland security; and
WHEREAS, the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services provides funds for the law enforcement community to support their terrorism prevention and preparedness efforts; and
WHEREAS, the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services is administering the FY2025 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP), a reimbursable, two-part (SHSP / SLETPP) grant program, wherein Federal guidelines require 35% of the allocated amount be directed to law enforcement terrorism prevention activities; and
WHEREAS, Sullivan County has been deemed eligible for the funding in the amount of $112,520.00; and
WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Division of Public Safety / Office of Emergency Management must submit an application in order to receive said funding and wishes to file an application with the New York State Division of Homeland Security; and
