RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY CHAIRMAN NADIA RAJSZ TO SET THE SALARY OF ASSISTANT COUNTY ATTORNEY POSITIONS IN THE SULLIVAN COUNTY ATTORNEY’S OFFICE
WHEREAS, the County Attorney’s Office is currently severely understaffed and it must fill four new Assistant County Attorney positions as soon as possible; and
WHEREAS, the County Attorney’s Office has been attempting to hire new attorneys for several months with no success. The main impediment to filling the vacant positions has been the current salary set for those positions; and
WHEREAS, in order to make the County Attorney’s Office more competitive in the current legal market it is necessary to increase the current salaries for said positions. The County Attorney believes that increasing the base salary for the title of Assistant County Attorney (For Current and New Hires) to $125,000.00 annually will substantially assist him in retaining and attracting attorneys to work in the County Attorney’s Office; and
WHEREAS, the County Attorney requests that effective November 1, 2024, the Assistant County Attorney positions’ salary be authorized in an annual amount of $125,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that effective November 1, 2024 the positions of Assistant County Attorney in the County Attorney’s Office be authorized at an annual salary of $125,000.00.
