RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMITTEE TO AUTHORIZE THE COUNTY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT THE FY2025 EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PERFORMANCE GRANT PROGRAM (EMPG) AWARD FROM THE NEW YORK STATE DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY SERVICES (DHSES)
WHEREAS, the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services provides funds to support efforts of emergency management / homeland security; and
WHEREAS, the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services provides funding to assist local governments in preparing for all hazards; and
WHEREAS, the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services is administering the FY2025 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Program, a reimbursable grant program; and
WHEREAS, Sullivan County has been deemed eligible for the funding in the amount of $29,577.00 for the performance period of October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2027; and
WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Division of Public Safety / Office of Emergency Management must submit an application in order to receive said funding and wishes to file an application with the New York State Division of Homeland Security; and
WHEREAS, Sullivan County is required to provide a local match equal to the funding award amount of $29,577.00.
