Specify Compliance with Procurement Procedures: endRESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY THE PLANNING AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES COMMITTEE TO ADOPT GUIDELINES FOR THE REMOVE UNSAFE STRUCTURES (RUSt) PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Division of Planning and Community Development has historically administered several small funding programs that advance County goals for community and economic development; and
WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Legislature ("Legislature") has recognized the needs of the County and fully supports efforts to encourage economic development, community safety, and a healthier living environment throughout the County; and
WHEREAS, to demonstrate its support, the Legislature wishes to allocate in the FY2025 County budget $100,000 to incentivize municipalities to remove unsafe and hazardous structures in their communities through the reimbursement of demolition and disposal expenses, which will have the effect of allowing County staff to undertake their obligations in the most effective and timely manner; and
WHEREAS, County staff have developed the attached guidelines to re-establish the Remove Unsafe Structures (RUSt) Program, which was last made available in FY2020.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sullivan County Legislature adopts the attached guidelines for the Remove Unsafe Structures (RUSt) Program, as approved by the Office of the County Attorney; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the following budget modification is authorized to support the program:
