This latest survey is another nail in the coffin of Infinitecare’s CON application as it constitutes a new violation. I’d be happy to share it with any of you who care to read it.
There are two years left to the contract with Infinitecare and as the Commissioner said last week, we seem to be at a stalemate. In two years, you legislators will be in the thick of elections. I suggest that you take positive action now by creating a task force to design a strategic plan for the separation of the ACC from Infinitecare, instead of continuing with the status quo until the contract expires. I know that there are many obstacles involved in untangling the grip that company has taken on our county owned nursing home, but it you have a group of dedicated people who can take the process apart, step by step, it could get done.
Once again, I ask why you, the operator, allows Infinitecare, the consultant, to fill management level positions with staff who do not meet the county’s posted requirements. This is an insult to all the county employees who have worked hard to attain the education and experience to occupy their positions, as I did.
