RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO ADOPT A PROGRAMMATIC FRAMEWORK FOR THE SULLIVAN COUNTY RENTAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM AND THE SULLIVAN COUNTY NEW RENTAL CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Legislature authorized a Local Law Designating Affordable Housing As A Sullivan County Public Purpose; and
WHEREAS, the 2024 Operating Budget included an appropriation of $2,000,000 dedicated to the furtherance of affordable housing in Sullivan County, and this funding has since been placed in a fund with the intention of utilizing it for its original intended purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress was contracted to research and create a draft framework for an affordable housing program in Sullivan County; and
WHEREAS, the draft framework for the Sullivan County Rental Rehabilitation Program and Sullivan County New Rental Construction Program (“Programs,” collectively) were presented to the Sullivan County Planning and Community Development Legislative Committee on July 10, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the Programs were further discussed at the Sullivan County Executive Legislative Committee on July 24, 2025; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Sullivan County Legislature to adopt the Programs for the purpose of furthering affordable housing in Sullivan County.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sullivan County Legislature adopts the Sullivan County Rental Rehabilitation Program and Sullivan County New Rental Construction Program.
