RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE TO AUTHORIZE AND EXECUTE A PARTIAL PAYMENT AGREEMENT WITH L.C. WHITFORD MATERIAL CO., INC. TO PROVIDE PRESTRESSED CONCRETE UNITS FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF COUNTY BRIDGE 296.
WHEREAS, Bid B-24-15 was received and L.C. Whitford Materials Co., Inc. was the lowest responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, the prestressed concrete units have been fabricated and the County Bridge 296 replacement project was rescheduled to 2026 due to required utility relocations not completed; and
WHEREAS, DPW does not have the equipment to move the prestressed concrete units and it is cost prohibitive for DPW to unload, reload and transport the beams when needed; and
WHEREAS, NYSDOT Standard Specifications provide for up to 85% partial payment to vendors for stored material; and
WHEREAS, L.C. Whitford Materials Co., Inc. has offered to store the prestressed concrete units until needed by DPW during the 2026 construction season for $500 per month for 15 months, June 2025 through September 2026, totaling $7,500 contingent on the County making a partial payment of 80% of $79,840.00; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute any and all agreements to provide a partial payment and storage fees to L.C. Whitford Materials Co., Inc., at a cost not to exceed $87,340.00, sa...
