RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TO ABOLISH DEPUTY SHERIFF AND CREATE THE POSITION OF DEPUTY SHERIFF DETECTIVE
WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office has reviewed its staffing needs and is requesting the creation of Deputy Sherriff (Detective Assignment) in the Sheriff’s Office, and
WHEREAS, an existing Deputy Sheriff employee that is serving as a School Resource Officer will be also assigned as a detective for youth related investigations, and
WHEREAS, the position of Deputy Sheriff will be abolished Position #2958 and the position of Deputy Sheriff (Detective Assignment) will be created in the Sheriff’s Office with the employee being placed in the newly created position will also be serving as a School Resource Officer, and
WHEREAS, the annual salary for this position will be based upon the current Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association collecting bargaining agreement.
NO, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sullivan County Legislature hereby abolishes the position of a Deputy Sheriff and creates the position of a Deputy Sheriff (Detective Assignment) in the Sheriff’s Office with the employee in this new position also assigned as a School Resource Officer.
