RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMITTEE TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 403-23 REGARDING A CONTRACT WITH ANIMAL RESCUE AND EDUCATION

                     WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Legislature adopted Resolution No. 403-23 on October 19, 2023, and

 

                     WHEREAS, Resolution No. 403-23 needs to be amended, and

 

                     WHEREAS, “other than dogs” needs to be deleted from the “Now, Therefore Be it Resolved” paragraph, and

 

                     WHEREAS, everything else in the resolution remains the same.

 

                     WHEREAS, that the following amendment “other than dogs” needs to be deleted in the last paragraph of Resolution No. 403-23

 

                     NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the last paragraph in Resolution 403-23 should read as follows:

“that the County Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Catskill Animal Rescue for a period of January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2025, with the option to renew annually for three (3) additional yeas at an amount not to exceed $60,000 per year to provide accommodations for seized animals seized by the County as part of the responsibilities of the Sheriff’s Office, Probation Department or otherwise required by law, said agreement to be in a form approved by the County Attorney”.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that everything else in Resolution No. 403-23 shall remain the same.
