Director's Report

* Local Activities
o On five separate dates in April and May, our Clerk Sheldon Dillon helped to distribute up to 21 pallets of food, on each occasion, with Sharon Ferber at the Community Assistance Center to distribute pallets of food. On many occasions after loading pallets, Sheldon will personally deliver the food enabling him to gather information on veterans in need.
o On April 9th and May 15th, I attended NY State Department of Veterans Services training that covered the following topics:
* Adjudication errors
* Inadequate exams
* TDIU
* Lay Evidence
* Mental Health (VA has been cited for changing PTSD diagnosis to unspecified trauma to reduce the rating percentage)
o On April 13th & 27th and May 4th, I attended the ATI Coffee and Camaraderie sessions with 5 local veterans to discuss VA and county programs and services available.
o On April 17th, I attended the Sullivan County Drug Task Force meeting. This meeting was well attended by VA and County representatives to discuss effectiveness of existing programs and implementation of new programs and services coming to the Hudson Valley.
o On May 11th, I attended the "Personalities in the Workplace" training at Resorts World. The training was well attended and very effective.
o On January 7th, our office staff began formulating an SOP for State Veterans Home admission. We are working with Public Health Nursing (PHN) for PRI screening and medical documentation.
