RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY LUIS ALVAREZ CHAIRMAN OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMITTEE TO CREATE ONE SHERIFF DEPUTY
WHEREAS, at least one Sheriff Deputy Position will be vacant in the upcoming months due to a retirement;
WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Sheriff has requested that the Legislature create one (1) Sheriff Deputy position temporarily to allow the Sheriff to place one (1) newly hired deputy in the police academy; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sullivan County Legislature hereby creates one (1) new Sheriff Deputy position effective immediately with the understanding that this position will be abolished upon official appointment to the current full-time vacancy position; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Sullivan County Sheriff is authorized to fill the one (1) new position immediately.
