RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMITTEE TO AUTHORIZE THE PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE DORMITORY AUTHORITY OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK (DASNY) FOR STATE AND MUNICIPAL FACILITIES PROGRAM (SAM) FUNDING TO SUPPORT THE SULLIVAN COUNTY BUREAU OF FIRE SPECIAL OPERATIONS TEAMS
WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Bureau of Fire coordinates countywide fire service initiatives, specialized emergency response operations, and mutual aid resources to protect the lives, property, and environment of the residents and visitors of Sullivan County; and
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Fire supports and coordinates Special Operations Teams, including Technical Rescue and Hazardous Materials, the Sullivan County Dive Team, and other specialized emergency response capabilities that require modern equipment to safely and effectively respond to complex emergencies; and
WHEREAS, the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), through the State and Municipal Facilities Program (SAM), provides funding opportunities for capital projects, facilities, and equipment that enhance public safety and strengthen emergency response capabilities; and
