RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REVISING THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT RULES ON NOVEMBER 17, 2022 TO ADJUST FEES EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2023
WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Solid Waste Management Rules (hereinafter the Rules) were adopted by the County Legislature in accordance with Section 171-24 of the Sullivan County Code; and
WHEREAS, from time to time it is necessary to adjust rates based on items such as but not limited to contract obligations, CIP increases and equitable distribution of actual costs; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Division of Public Works has recommended and the County Manager has concurred with the Commissioner’s recommendation, the adoption of the revisions to the Sullivan County Solid Waste Management Rules. Specifically, Section 620.1 will be modified to reflect the following price adjustment effective January 1st, 2023 (summary):
• Scale rate to $120 per ton
• Minimum fee to $20 and Minimum Weight to 330 lbs.
• SSR rate for commercial to $50 with residential SSR remaining at $0
• Cu Yd rate to $60 with ½ yard minimum of $30
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, Section 620.1 Disposal Fees be modified to read as contained in the attached schedule “A”; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, this amendment shall take effect on January 1, 2023.
