WHEREAS, the County of Sullivan, through the Department of Social Services is in the process of developing a fully functioning Child Advocacy Center (CAC) and requires certain professionals to assist in the provision of Child Protective Services (CPS) related services for Sullivan County youth and families; and

 

WHEREAS, the core mission of the CAC multidisciplinary team is to provide protection to the children in our community from crimes, reduce trauma and promote healing to children and their families, CAC provides a safe, child friendly setting where a coordinated response may be pursued in ways that are supportive and productive; and

 

WHEREAS in order to properly serve the citizens of Sullivan County and to ensure investigations are comprehensive and to maximize the likelihood of successful prosecutions and the level of services provided, the CAC requires collaboration between the Department of Social Services, District Attorney’s Office, law enforcement agencies, mental health agencies and victim services agencies; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Sullivan County Legislature does hereby authorize the County Manager to execute all agreements necessary between the Department of Social Services, District Attorney’s Office, law enforcement agencies, mental health agencies and victim services agencies for the provision of services to the Child Advocacy Center; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, these agreements shall be in effect May 1, 2023 and shall remain in effect until all parties agree to modify as necessary or three (3) years; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the form of said contracts will be approved by the Sullivan County Attorney’s Office.
