Specify Compliance with Procurement Procedures: N/A RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE TO AUTHORIZE THE DIVISION OF PUBLIC WORKS TO FILE TWO APPLICATIONS FOR BRIDGENY FUNDING, AVAILABLE THROUGH THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO FUND PROJECTS TO REPLACE BRIDGE 51-BIN 3356020 LOCATED ON COUNTY ROAD 142 AND BRIDGE 283-BIN 3356090 LOCATED ON COUNTY ROAD 149.
WHEREAS, the New York State Department of Transportation has funding available through the BRIDGENY program; and
WHEREAS, the BRIDGENY funding program can provide 95% funding of the eligible costs for engineering and construction services necessary for the replacement of bridges; and
WHEREAS, approximately $3 million dollars in funding is needed to expedite work needed for the replacement of Bridge 51-BIN 3356020 and approximately $3.6 million dollars in funding is needed to expedite work needed for the replacement of Bridge 283-BIN 3356090.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sullivan County Legislature hereby authorizes the County Manager, Chairman of the County Legislature, and / or their authorized representative (as required by the funding source) to execute any and all necessary documents to submit the BRIDGENY applications for funding the Bridge 51-BIN 3356020 and Bridge 283-BIN 3356090 Replacement Projects; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Sullivan County Legislature hereby authorizes the County Manager, and / or Chairman of the County Legislature (as required by the funding source) to accept the award, and enter into an award agreement or contract to administer the funding secured, in such form as the County Attorney shall approve; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that should the BRIDGENY funding be terminated, the County shall not be obligated to continue any action undertaken by the use of this funding.
