BOE Update

v                     The results of the 2026 Primary Election were certified by the Commissioners on Wednesday, July 1st (the official results can be viewed on our website at: www.sullivanny.gov/Departments/Elections <http://www.sullivanny.gov/Departments/Elections>)

 

v                     Statistics from the 2026 Primary Election:

Ø                     471 Early Voters cast their ballot in person over the nine-day period

                     231 Democratic Voters

                     240 Republican Voters

Ø                     Our office processed 717 requests for Early Mail ballots (74 for Democrats and 643 for Republicans)

Ø                     We also processed 703 requests for Absentee Ballots (432 for Democrats and 271 for Republicans)

Ø                     2,544 Voters cast their vote in person on Primary Day (908 Democrats and 1,636 Republicans)

 

Important Dates, Deadlines & Information:

v                     July 23rd: The last day for a Town to file nominations from a caucus (the BOE will accept filings between 9am and 5pm on this date)

v                     We need Election Inspectors for the General Election! Please contact the Board of Elections at (845)807-0400 for information.

v                     Election Inspector Training will be held in July and August (advanced registration with the BOE is required to attend).

v                     The General Election is Tuesday, November 3rd.  Poll Sites will be open from 6am until 9pm in Sullivan County. 

v                     Saturday, October 24th our office will be open from 9am until 5pm, as this is the last day for the Board of Elections to receive a Voter Registration by mail or in person for the General Election.  This is also the last day for the BOE to receive an Absentee/Early Vote by Mail application by mail or portal.

Ø                     Any Voter may request a postage paid Early Vote by Mail Ballot (no reason required), by paper application or via the online portal: elections.ny.gov/request-ballot <https://elections.ny.gov/request-ballot>

v                     October 19th is the last day for the BOE to receive a change of address from a Voter.

v                     Early Voting for the General Election runs from Saturday, October 24th until Sunday, November 1st at the Sullivan County Government Center in Monticello and Public Health in Liberty. The hours are posted on our website at:  sullivanny.gov/Departments/Elections/EarlyVoting <https://sullivanny.gov/Departments/Elections/EarlyVoting> 

As always, there is no Early Voting the day before the election (Monday, November 2nd).

v                     Our Summer hours are 8:00AM until 4:00PM, Monday through Friday until September 4th (excluding mandatory filing dates, when our hours will be until 5pm).
