RESOLUTION INTRODUCED TO THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FOR COUNTY MANAGER TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT WITH SENIOR CARE EMS

 

WHEREAS, In 2024 Sullivan County obtained a Certificate of Need (CON) in order to provide supplemental Emergency Medical Services to support the local Emergency Medical Services system, and

WHEREAS, Sullivan County contracted with SeniorCare EMS pursuant to Resolution No. 330-24 and amended later by Resolution No. 234-25 to provide EMS services under the County CON; and

WHEREAS, The program has proven successful in saving lives by reducing response times, provided for crew assists to our local EMS agencies and increased availability of Advanced Life Support services; and

WHEREAS, Sullivan County desires to continue the provision of these services through a 4-year renewal of the agreement with Senior Care EMS; and

WHEREAS, Sullivan County further desires to modify the operational configuration of the service to include three (3) fly cars and one (1) staffed ambulance to better meet the needs of the County and its residents;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sullivan County Legislature hereby authorizes the County Manager to execute a contract renewal with SeniorCare EMS with a total cost not to exceed $3,560,000 for years 1 and 2 of the agreement, and not to exceed $3,738,000 for years 3 & 4 of the agreement; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the terms of this contract renewal will commence on September 16, 2026 for a term of 4-years; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Manager is authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution as approved to form by the County Attorney’s Office
