BOE Update
v The results of the 2025 Primary Election were certified by the Commissioners on Wednesday, July 2nd (the official results can be viewed on our website at: <https://www.sullivanny.gov/Departments/Elections>)
v Statistics from the 2025 Primary Election:
Ø 683 Early Voters cast their ballot in person over the nine-day period
• 428 at the Government Center
• 255 at Public Health in Liberty
Ø In Person Early Voters by Party:
• 81 Democratic Voters
• 602 Republican Voters
Ø Our office processed 1,586 requests for Early Mail ballots (16 for Democrats and 1,570 for Republicans)
Ø We also processed 462 requests for Absentee Ballots (39 for Democrats and 423 for Republicans)
Ø 3,086 Voters cast their vote in person on Primary Day (229 Democrats and 2,857 Republicans)
Ø Our office researched and processed approximately 150 Affidavit Ballots
Status of the “Even Year Law”
v The case is expected to be heard in the NYS Court of Appeals in September
Important Dates, Deadlines & Information:
v We need Election Inspectors for the General Election! Please contact the Board of Elections at (845)807-0400 for information. Dan Hust is actively advertising for us (thank you, Dan)!
v The General Election is Tuesday, November 4th. All Poll Sites will be open from 6am until 9pm in Sullivan County.
v October 25th is the last day for the Board of Elections to receive a Voter Registration by mail or in person (our office will be open from 9am until 5pm) for the General Election. This is also the last day for the BOE to receive an Absentee/Early Vote by Mail application by mail or portal.
Ø Any Voter may request a postage paid Early Vote by Mail Ballot (no reason required), by paper application or via the online portal: <https://elections.ny.gov/request-ballot>
v October 20th is the last day for the BOE to receive a change of address from a Voter.
v Early Voting for the General Election runs from Saturday, October 25th until Sunday, November 2nd at the Sullivan County Government Center in Monticello and Public Health in Liberty. The hours are posted on our website at: <https://sullivanny.us/Departments/Elections/EarlyVoting>
As always, there is no Early Voting the day before the election (Monday, November 3rd).
v Our Summer hours are 8:00AM until 4:00PM, Monday through Friday until September 5th (excluding mandatory filing dates).
