RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY LUIS A. ALVAREZ, CHAIR OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT COMMITTEE TO RECLASSIFY POSITION NOS. #2958 AND #3373, CURRENTLY DESIGNATED DEPUTY SHERIFF (DETECTIVE ASSIGNMENT) TO DEPUTY SHERIFF CORPORAL
WHEREAS, positions #2958 and #3373 are currently designated as Deputy Sheriff (Detective Assignment) in the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Sullivan County Sheriff that the referenced employees are currently assigned duties that are above their current title of Deputy Sheriff (Detective Assignment), and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to reclassify positions #2958 and #3373 to Deputy Sheriff Corporal to accurately reflect the work the incumbent is conducting, and
WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Sheriff, after discussion with the County Manager, requests that positions #2958 and #3373 be reclassified to Deputy Sheriff Corporal, and confirms that the incumbents are eligible to be appointed and reachable on the certified Civil Service list, and
WHEREAS, the current salary of the incumbents in positions #2958 and #3373 will remain unchanged, making this a budget neutral reclassification, and
WHEREAS, the current salary of the incumbent in position #2598 is $101,836, and
WHEREAS, the current salary of the incumbent in position #3373 is $99,800, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sullivan County Legislature hereby authorizes the reclassification of positions #2958 and #3373 in the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office from Deputy Sheriff (Detective Assignment) to Deputy Sheriff Corporal retroactive to July 19, 2025.
