RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY THE PLANNING REAL PROPERTY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE TO MODIFY A CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES WITH ALTA PLANNING + DESIGN INC. FOR WORK ON THE O&W RAIL TRAIL.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 130-22, adopted by the Sullivan County Legislature on April 7, 2022, Alta Planning + Design Inc. (“Alta”) was awarded a contract in accordance with #R-22-02, to assist with implementation of the Sullivan O&W Rail Trail Feasibility Study; and
WHEREAS, Alta has provided design and engineering services for the Neversink Crossing Project (“Project”) as part of the original scope of their contract; and
WHEREAS, Sullivan County (the “County”) was awarded funding in the amount of $1.1 million via Congressionally Directed Spending to fund the construction phase of the (“Project”); and
WHEREAS, the funding is being included in a Federal-Aid Project Agreement between the County and the New York State Department of Transportation (“NYSDOT”) who will administer the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, NYSDOT has required design and engineering services for the Project beyond the scope which was originally anticipated by the County and Alta, as well as a hydraulic study of the Project area; and
WHEREAS, additional funding for the project is required in order to fulfill the requirements of NYSDOT.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Manager be and is hereby
authorized to execute a modification agreement with Alta Planning and Design Inc. in an amount not to exceed $100,000 for engineering and design services, as well as to fund a hydraulic study, in response to the requirements of the NYSDOT; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the form of said agreement be approved by the County Attorney.
