RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE AWARD AND EXECUTION OF A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH WATERPROOFING TECHNOLOGIES, INC. FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE GOVERNMENT CENTER ANNEX ROOF IN MONTICELLO, NY
WHEREAS, the County of Sullivan owns and maintains more than one hundred buildings, including the Government Center Annex in Monticello, NY; and
WHEREAS, the Annex roof has exceeded its useful life by many years and requires replacement; and
WHEREAS, the project design includes complete roof replacement, block repair along the top of the parapet, and the addition of a roof access hatch; and
WHEREAS, via the New York State adopted OMNIA Partners cooperative purchasing contract, Waterproofing Technologies, Inc., reviewed the roof replacement project, conducted a site visit with several of their New York State roofing contractors, and received competitive bids for the project; and
WHEREAS, two cost options were presented to the County, which has selected Base Proposal 2, the 20-year warranty option; and
WHEREAS, the Sullivan County Purchasing Department and Division of Public Works have reviewed the proposal, as submitted by Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc., 3735 Green Rd., Beachwood, OH 44122 and recommends award of construction contract in the amount of $1,307,982.89.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute a construction contract with Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc., in a total amount not to exceed $1,307,982.89, in such form as the County Attorney shall approve.
