RESOLUTION INTRODUCED BY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH DAVIDOFF HUTCHER & CITRON LLP FOR LOBBYING SERVICES RELATED TO LICENSES EXPECTED TO BE ISSUED FOR UP TO THREE DOWNSTATE CASINOS

WHEREAS, the New York State Gaming Commission is expected to award up to three down state casino licenses by the end of 2025, and

WHEREAS, it is expected that the siting of up to three down state casino licenses will have a direct negative impact on the success of the casino in Sullivan County and as a result revenue received by numerous municipalities including Sullivan County, and

WHEREAS, the, Sullivan County Legislature desires to engage a firm for the purposes of providing state lobbying services to protect the interests of the county with respect to the issuance of three down state casino licenses.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the County Legislature hereby authorizes the County Manager to enter into a contract with Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP.  The contract will be for a period of one year, with an option to extend for four additional years, in an amount of $60,000 per year and up to an additional $10,000 per year for other incidental costs. Said contract to be in such form approved by the Sullivan County Attorney’s Office.

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the County Legislature hereby authorizes the County Manager to enter into a contract with Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP for a period of one year, with an option to extend for four additional years, on a yearly basis, in an amount of $60,000 per year plus up to an additional $10,000 per year for other incidental costs. Said contract to be in such form approved by the Sullivan County Attorney’s Office.
