911 Center Monthly Report
* We are preparing for our busy summer season. We generally see a three-fold increase in our call volume during the summer months. We are in good shape headed into summer.
* We are nearly completed rolling out our countywide subscription to IamResponding which is a cloud-based platform which is being shared with all Fire, EMS and our Sheriff's Office to supplement dispatch functions, text paging, leveraging smart-phones as pagers, and provides a communication platform within the agency.
* Our department has been meeting with the National Park Service to discuss some upcoming training exercises which will include communications.
* We attended the Sullivan County Fire Chief's meeting to discuss 911 Communications.
* Attended the Hatzalah pre-summer meeting/luncheon
* We are in the process of submitting (2) grant applications for both the NG911 grant program and the SICG Targeted Grant program, with the help of our grants office.
EMS Monthly Report
* I'd like to thank our partners at Garnet Health Catskill, Jerry Dunlavey & Suzanne Lange, for hosting the EMS appreciation luncheon on May 20th. Commissioner Schulte was the MC for the event and announced the following award winners chosen by the EMS community:
- BLS Provider of the Year: Tyler Naumchik (Sullivan County EMS/SeniorCare EMS)
- ALS Provider of the Year: Susan Sherwood (Sullivan County EMS/SeniorCare EMS)
- EMS Agency of the Year: Highland Ambulance Service
- Youth Provider of the Year: Jayden Stephens (Rock Hill EMS)
- EMS Educator of Excellence: Diana Duffy (SUNY Sullivan EMS Programs)
- RN of Excellence: Julie Swendsen (Garnet Health Catskills)
- Physician of Excellence: Nicki Maxwell (Garnet Health Catskills)
- Harriet C Weber EMS Leadership Award: Alex Rau (Livingston Manor EMS/ SC Public Safety)
* The Bureau of EMS hosted a very well attended education night featuring LifeNet and SeniorCare/County EMS on airway management and protocol updates.
